Sorry for my announced hiatus it's still in progress. Band and school has the best of me. I'll be back soon.

However, one quick rant.
Dear Kid:
I did not claim fault for a mutual fault accident. I'm not stupid. I want to go into a law type field, I would never admit fault. Telling your mom I did? Stupid.

Just because I didn't yell at you didn't mean I was claiming fault. I gave you two numbers to call, my tag number and my name. I was calm. Yelling wasn't going to transport me back in time. Your friend saying "This is the calmest accident I've ever seen." Doesn't mean I claimed fault. I just know when it's not worth it.

You on the other hand did say "not again." Do you keep magnets in your trunk? If this has happened more than once have you ever thought it's your fault? No. Why would it be your fault?

You do not have witnesses. You had your friends, those are not reliable witnesses. I HAVE a witness who is friends with neither of his. He says "They backed into each other."

Oh, and remember one of your friends said; "Dude you hit a Toyota!" Hmmm.

Just because your P.O.S car got dented and mine didn't doesn't mean I'm liable. In fact my grandmother got into an accident and she wasn't moving, the other guy was. Her car was fine, his was dented.

Dear Mother of kid:
Your son's car was a beat up P.O.S anyways, one dent? His car was keyed, and you're going to try to nail me for a dent?

We were both backing out, it's my fault your son is a dangerous driver and backs out of spaces faster than any decent human should.

Good luck pegging this on me, you're gonna' need it.
Also as a sidenote I brutally beat sophmores in a debate.
I'm a horrible person.

Art stuff behind the cut. Project.
I apologize for the distortions in my art. I have no scanner so I have to take these with a camera.

Beware of teh symbolism.

Front of my journal for art. This is a page that is really dedicated to the Joker and his obsession in the Dark Knight. The tears were originally from catwoman, but now they stand to show his frustrations. (And perhaps reminiscent of his smile.)

His complex, but overly simple motivation is present. Above city in small letters it says "Burn The" above that in the same type font I might attach the word Gotham. "Gothamn [burn the] City." In the upper left hand corner the paper says Kill The Batman. This is highlighted/circled to emphasize his desire. That's his top priority. It's written in a very sharp hand, and looks as though he's gone over it many times with a pen.

The titles of the articles all have some connection to Batman- as a whole not really the character. One of the titles reads "Taken Two Choices at a time." My personal salute to Harvey Dent and two face. Who is obsessed with the number two. (Two is even underlined twice.) "World of Choices" is an allusion to Batman's struggle with himself. To give up being Batman? Or to continue. "Chief to Resign" refers to the police chief, and while he didn't resign it was as close as I could gt. There's also an article clipping that has the header "Snagged by Rival." Referring to the rivalry and duality of all that is in Batman. Feel teh symbolisim.

The random highlighted/circled things are just that. RANDOM. That was just my friends brilliant idea, so in the map in the corner there's a point with an arrow to it. And in the papers there are highlighted and circled clips. That's supposed to be like the Joker is looking for things.

This will eventually be put on a plain black background and will somehow say "I made a promise to my parents." This is the motivation of Batman in The Long Halloween. The promise he made to his parents. Hence the reason for the very simplistic black and white design. His motivation , in Long Halloween (Yes I'm mixing fanon) is nothing like the Joker. Yeah, you get the idea he's more organized and put together.

**Possible spoilers depending on how much you want to know about the film before you see it.

Okay, I went and saw The Dark Knight today. I originally really didn't want to see it, I mean with it having a two and a half hour runtime you kind of can't blame me. (I don't sit still in movies very well.) Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, instead of hating the long runtime I wished the movie could have been even longer. (Only time you'll ever hear me say that).

This movie was- put simply- delicious. It was hauntingly dark, with very few flaws. I must articulate my great delight in how the Joker (Ledger) was portrayed. I'm one of those people who delight in the delight of the villains, but not with the Joker. I, for once, was afraid of a fictional character. There were moments when I was laughing at, and with, the Joker. Yet, a moment later I was simply staring in a horrified awe. It was realistic, the psychopathic and twisted nature of the character. Realism is a very scary idea indeed. Voldemort is great, buy the realism isn't there like with the Joker, who is essentially a terrorist.

It's his motivation that's the real kicker. He does not feel motivated by many of the basic, and understandable, desires. Money and wealth? They mean nothing to him. His motivation is simple. Chaos. To tip the balance, anarchy. Why? Just because he can. I find that when humans don't understand something we're likely to be afraid of it. (Spiders, for example.) Well, this was a classic case of that for me.

This was not a mere comic book film. It delved into morality in a very unexpected way. I was questioning myself through the movie. What choice would I make? Would I kill a bunch of criminals for my own life? Would I kill the man who ruined my life? What do I consider good? What is wrong? I abide by the law, but I did realize today that I might not in certain situations.

Ah, but this movie was not without flaw. The plot was superb, the acting incredible, and the effect brilliant. However, the romance subplot was just there. I didn't feel any real interest in it, but I didn't loathe it either. I also felt that the Joker was becoming predictable. I might be alone in that sentiment, (as I seemed to be the only person in my party who was picking up on his actions ahead of time) but it was a problem for myself. I was hoping to be surprised for the whole movie.

Otherwise? Brilliant. And if you didn't see the first, no need to worry. I didn't, and I followed the movie just fine.

I took four this year. Obviously these scores are on the standard 1-5 AP scale, 3 is passing...

I failed Calculus AB with a 2.

However,
I passed AP united states history with a 4,
English and composition with a 4,
and AP psychology with a 4.

Oh, and being a Scorpio with a Meyer-Briggs INTJ type seems very dangerous.

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Ah, something I can write about. I added another movie to my list of Johnny Depp conquered movies, I'm going to see them all. I think he's an artist of epic proportions, I haven't not liked him in something. Though, I will admit "A Nightmare on Elm Street" was probably not his shining glory.

I honestly thought I was going to be scared to death when watching it. One would expect more from Fred Kruger, but I'm a member of this great desensitized generation. I guess? Either that or I didn't find the concept realistic enough to jump at the slightest hint of noise. I will admit, the thunderstorm outside added a wonderful effect to the movie.

It has a few positives, of course. I did find it interesting enough to watch, and I found it slightly more realistic than Halloween. At least I wasn't laughing at the unrealistic death/dead bodies. (Okay, that's a bit of a lie. I did laugh at one corpse in the movie, but it was just the way the arm flopped.) I did do some laughing at the killer, but not as much as I did when it came to Micheal Myers. I do not laugh because I like killers nor do I find them funny. I laugh because of the lack of realism.

I did find a few things about the movie interesting, for lack of a better word. I believe that J.F.K was assassinated on Elm Street, so perhaps the name of the movie could make reference to that? They never do say the name Elm Street in the movie. Maybe it's totally unrelated, I just found that tidbit amusing.

I'm still being unfair, only giving the movie a slight bit of credit. I was intrigued by it's question of reality and fiction. I have to admit, I like having to think about what I'm watching. I'm going to try not to spoil anything for those of you who want to see it and haven't, but I will say that I found the movie to be very M. Night Shyamalan.

Overall I can say it wasn't a bad watch. Am I going to see any of the sequels? I doubt it. It's possible that I'll see "Freddy's Dead," but only because I'm determined to see everything Johnny Depp has been in. Strangest goal ever. What can I say? When I'm a fan of something, I'm really a fan. =)

Welcome to my journal.
In all of its completely blank glory. I said I intend for art to go in here, but upon further reflection I'm not sure if that's all I'll put in here. I assume just anything that comes to my mind.

A bit about me
I'm an artist (not really a great one), horseback rider, and a lover of literature.

My favorite composer is Frank Ticheli.
Samuel Hazo is also a favorite.
I play Trombone, flute, and minimal amounts of piano.
